Our story begins in 1959 in Busto Arsizio, just outside Milan, in what was then known as the “Manchester of Italy” due to its thriving textile industry.
These were the years of the boom in synthetic fibers and plastics, destined to forever change the face of the sector.
It was in this context that Sergio Comerio, our founder, took his first steps. Driven by an idea: to create a yarn guide capable of resisting the friction and abrasive power of these new fibers which, moving at high speed, were particularly sharp.
How to tackle the dual challenge of new synthetic materials combined with increasing production speeds?
The answer was found in a substance called alumina oxide, an industrial technical ceramic with performance far superior to traditional ceramics.
